Verifying land ownership and usage rights
Every Land Steward will have to provide an official document of proof of land ownership or land use rights for the plot(s) that they upload on Landler.
TLG will only make the documents provided by the Land Steward available for the Buyer upon request. It is then the Buyer’s decision to accept the document provided by the Land Steward as sufficient proof of ownership or rights to use the land or plot.
The documents provided by the Land Steward can include:
Annual land use rights declaration of the state to the Land Steward or the Sponsor
Land lease agreement
Some formal land titles
Informal village titles
Consent form signed by farmer that says farmer confirms they own land and explains what type of land they have
What if the Land Steward is represented by a third party?
If the Land Steward is represented by a sponsoring third party, TLG will require a Power of Attorney or any other document that acts as a written authorization that allows the third party to act in another's best interests to enter a Nature Equity Assets Purchase Agreement to sell the Land Stewards' Natural Capital Units.
TLG can provide a templated Power of Attorney document to the Sponsor or the Land Steward if needed.
The documents provided by the Sponsor can include:
Signed power of attorney between the Land Steward and the Sponsor mentioning TLG’s services
Document signed by the government authorizing the Sponsor to work with the Land Steward mentioning TLG’s services
Contract between the Land Steward and the Sponsor mentioning TLG’s services
